Yellow warning for Bora thunderstorms, hail and strong wind in Cyprus amid temperature drop

The Cyprus met office issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms from 6am till 6pm on Tuesday, with hail and strong winds possible in Bora-hit storm areas.

The Meteorological Service said the Bora would be milder in Cyprus, however showers and isolated thunderstorms were to be expected.

The precipitation rate is expected to range between 35mm and 55mm per hour.

Clouds will start gathering on Monday night, with 3 Beaufort gentle breezes and calm to moderate seas.

Temperatures will drop to 5C inland, 10C along the coast and 4C in the highest mountains.

Frost will be forming in the mountains and lower.

Temperatures will be lower on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will return to around the average for the season on Thursday.
