Police in Cyprus raids migrants, detain 41
Greek Cypriot police said it arrested 41 people during a migrant raid across Cyprus (south) on Thursday.
According to report, the raids targeted specific residential and work premises across all cities.
The operation involved substantial police force deployment, with 13 arrests made in the Limassol district alone.
The persons arrested were of various nationalities, the police said in a statement.
The detained individuals will be interviewed by authorities before deportation proceedings begin, in accordance with legal procedures.
Since the start of the year, authorities have tracked down and repatriated 9,268 persons who were residing in Cyprus illegally.
