Drunk man who punched police in the face found to be living in north Cyprus illegally
An individual was under the influence of alcohol who was causing public disturbance punched a police officer for intervening and later found to be living in north Cyprus without a resident permit.
The individual, a foreign national in north Cyprus named only as FOAA, 23 was arrested on Namık Kemal Street in Kyrenia by the police in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to police press release, at around 12:30 AM on Sunday December 15, the suspect who was under the influence of alcohol was causing disturbance while drunk.
While a police officer tried to caution him, he punched the officer in the face.
Police said he prevented the officer from carrying out their duties.
During immigration check, it was determined that the suspect was residing in the country without legal status.
