19 vehicles banned from traffic, 3 people without residence permits arrested in simultaneous inspections across north Cyprus

4,314 vehicles inspected, 717 drivers reported, and 19 vehicles were banned from traffic during the simultaneous inspections carried out in Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Güzelyurt on Friday night.

Additionally, three individuals without residence permits were arrested.

According to the police, between 8:00 PM and midnight yesterday, simultaneous inspections were carried out in Famagusta, targeting entertainment venues, establishments selling alcoholic beverages, cafes, nightclubs, coffee houses, and other crowded places. No negative incidents were reported in these locations.

In inspections conducted in casinos, 20 individuals prohibited from entering or being in casinos were identified, and legal action was initiated against them.

In traffic inspections, a total of 980 drivers were checked. Offenses included:

  • 183 drivers exceeding the legal speed limit,
  • 15 using mobile phones while driving,
  • 3 driving without wearing seat belts,
  • 50 driving without vehicle registration,
  • 3 driving without insurance,
  • 1 operating a public vehicle without a permit,
  • 9 violating conditions specified in public vehicle permits,
  • 1 reckless driving,
  • 90 other traffic violations.

In total, 355 drivers faced legal action for various traffic offenses.

In Kyrenia, inspections were carried out at entertainment venues, establishments selling alcoholic beverages, and other crowded places, resulting in the arrest of three individuals without residence permits.

In casinos, 34 individuals prohibited from entering or being in casinos were identified, and legal action was taken against them.

In traffic inspections, a total of 2,352 drivers were checked. Offenses included:

  • 76 drivers exceeding the legal speed limit,
  • 11 driving under the influence of alcohol,
  • 2 using mobile phones while driving,
  • 12 driving without wearing seat belts,
  • 4 driving without vehicle registration,
  • 7 driving without insurance,
  • 2 violating conditions specified in public vehicle permits,
  • 2 reckless driving,
  • 136 other traffic violations.

A total of 252 drivers faced legal action for various traffic offenses, and 19 vehicles were banned from traffic.

In Güzelyurt, inspections were conducted at entertainment venues, establishments selling alcoholic beverages, betting houses, coffee houses, and other crowded places. No negative incidents were reported.

In traffic inspections, a total of 982 drivers were checked. Offenses included:

  • 8 drivers exceeding the legal speed limit,
  • 1 using a mobile phone while driving,
  • 10 driving without wearing seat belts,
  • 91 other traffic violations.

In total, 110 drivers faced legal action for various traffic offenses.
