Trump plans massive deportation operation on day 1

US President-elect, Donald Trump on Sunday night announced that he will reappoint former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director, Tom Homan to lead the nation’s border security in his upcoming administration.

Trump has committed to launching a large-scale deportation effort of undocumented immigrants on his first day in office, describing it as the most extensive operation of its kind in U.S. history.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump expressed his confidence in Homan, whom he referred to as “The Border Czar.”

“I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there’s nobody better at policing and controlling our borders,” Trump wrote.

Homan will reportedly oversee “all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin.”

Homan previously led ICE under Trump’s first administration, and at the Republican National Convention in July, he had a message for undocumented immigrants: “You better start packing now.”

Following his narrow victory in the November 5 election, Trump has regained the presidency, marking a significant return for his brand of right-wing politics. Although his inauguration won’t occur until January, he has already started to fill key positions.

His only formal cabinet appointment so far is his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, whom he has tapped as his White House Chief of Staff.

Border security has long been a challenge for U.S. administrations, but Trump has intensified the issue in his rhetoric, calling it an “invasion” of migrants he claims could harm American communities.

During his campaign, he frequently made inflammatory remarks about undocumented immigrants, even referencing them as a threat to the nation’s “bloodline.”
