Student trying to escape from police arrest seriously injured after jumping from apartment building in Famagusta
An individual was seriously injured after jumping from his apartment building while trying to escape from the police from arresting him for living in north Cyprus without a resident permit.
The incident happened at around 2:40 am on Tuesday November 5 in an apartment on Bülbül Street in Famagusta.
Police had gone to the residence in response to a complaint over noise coming from the apartment.
On sighting the police, the individual, a 26-year-old student identified only as AAO tried to escape from the police by jumping from the balcony of the apartment from a height of 13.5 meter to the ground. He fell and landed on a car parked in front of the building.
The individual who was injured in the fall was rushed to the Famagusta State Hospital for treatment where he is currently under observation in the Orthopedic Service.
