Severe storm across Cyprus: House roof flew off onto the Alsancak - Kyrenia road

Due to the severe storm, transportation on the Alsancak - Kyrenia Ring Road was redirected into the city starting from the Girne American University Roundabout after roof debris flew onto the road. 

Drivers are urged to proceed cautiously and slowly.

The severe storm affecting the entire island has caused significant danger on the Alsancak - Kyrenia Ring Road. Due to the storm, a roof made of profile metal and sheet iron from a business flew onto the road in the direction heading into Kyrenia.

As a result, police have redirected drivers coming from Alsancak toward Kyrenia into the city starting from the Girne American University Roundabout.

Drivers using the alternative route are advised by the police to proceed cautiously and slowly.

The police statement reads as follows:

"Due to the severe storm, a roof made of profile metal and sheet iron from a business flew onto the road on the Alsancak - Kyrenia Ring Road in the direction heading into Kyrenia. Drivers traveling from Alsancak toward Kyrenia are being redirected into the city starting from the Girne American University Roundabout. We kindly urge drivers using this route to proceed cautiously and slowly."
