Pervert arrested for spying at a woman having her bath in Kyrenia

An individual arrested for sexual harassment in Kyrenia secretly spied on a woman in her bathroom while having her bath.

The suspect, Ö.K. a Turkish national was arrested for allegedly entering a bathroom through a ventilation vent where he spied on a woman having her bath.

The suspect was brought to the Kyrenia court on Sunday November 11 on charges of "sexual harassment and voyeurism".

Police said they received a complaint that an unidentified male individual at around 6:50 pm on Friday November 8, 2024, entered the ventilation of a 27-year-old woman, residing in an apartment building in Kyrenia, through the open window of the bathroom while she was taking a shower.

Police said investigation launched into the matter is continuing as camera recordings would be examined and that they will also investigate whether the suspect is connected to two separate similar crimes that occurred in the apartment in question recently.

The police requested that the suspect be detained for 2 days in the first stage so that the investigation can be carried out smoothly.
