Intruder sexually assaults woman in the dead of the night in Lefkosa: Woman claims

A 20-year-old girl has described how an intruder entered her family apartment in Lefkosa, north Cyprus in the dead of the night to sexually harass her.

The incident was reported to the police on Tuesday November 12.

According to the 20-year-old girl, a Turkish Cypriot who lives in Lefkoşa, the incident happened at around 3:00am on Saturday November 9 when she was sexually harassed by someone who tried to held her hands while she was sleeping. 

"I saw someone trying to hold my hands, but I couldn't look at him out of fear. When he realized I was awake, he quickly ran away. I woke up my family by screaming, but the person who entered my house had already run away," she said. 

Sharing her experience on social media, she claimed that an unauthorized person entered her home at around 03:00 on Saturday night and attempted to harass her.

“I felt a shadow enter my room while I was sleeping. I didn’t pay attention at first, but when I felt a weight on me, I woke up in fear. I saw someone trying to hold my hands, but I couldn’t look at him out of fear. When he realized I was awake, he quickly ran away. I woke up my family by screaming, but the person who entered my house had already run away.”

She said the intruder escaped by leaving the kitchen door of the house opened and that her family went outside and looked for the person, but he could not be found.
