Cold winds to hit Cyprus in coming days as temperatires set to drop by 4 degrees
Cold winds are to hit Cyprus in the coming days, with a “bora”, the name given to a strong, cold, dry wind in the Adriatic, currently making its way towards the island.
Saturday’s weather is expected to remain mostly clear, though with increased cloud cover in parts of the island in the afternoon.
The skies will remain largely clear overnight, with temperatures set to drop to a sharp four degrees Celsius inland, eight degrees Celsius on the south and east coasts, nine degrees Celsius on the rest of the coasts, and three degrees Celsius in the mountains.
Frost is possible in the mountains and inland as a result of the plummeting temperatures.
On Sunday, the skies will be largely clear, with temperatures set to rise to a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius inland and on the south, east, and west coasts, 21 degrees Celsius on the north coast, and 12 degrees Celsius in the mountains.
The week will begin with clear skies on Monday morning, though clouds will roll in during the afternoon, with rain possible in the evening.
Cloud and rain will persist on Tuesday, with the possibility of storms and hailstones, with this set to continue into Wednesday. ‘
Temperatures will remain largely stable through Monday, though with a drop off expected through Tuesday and Wednesday.
