19-year-old Moroccan woman dies after vehicle hits 3 pedestrians in Kyrenia
A vehicle hit three pedestrians trying to cross the road in Karakum on Saturday evening resulting in the death of one of the pedestrians.
The victim, a 19-year-old girl named Soukaina Kırba, died in the accident.
The accident occurred at around 7:20 pm on Uğur Mumcu Street in Girne-Karakum when a 75-year-old man Plümer Osman Ertüngü who was driving from Çatalköy towards Girne due to his inattentiveness hit three young female pedestrians, Soukaına KIRBA (19), Khaoula FERDOUS (21), and Aya BOULHANNI (18), all Moroccans who were crossing the road near Metropol Supermarket.
As a result of the collision, Soukaına KIRBA was thrown and struck by another vehicle coming from the opposite direction, driven by 43-year-old Serdar Özbek.
Plümer Osman Ertüngü continued to drive uncontrollably due to the impact, collided with another car, coming from the opposite direction, driven by 25-year-old Neslişah Gözükür.
Soukaına KIRBA died at the scene of the accident.
Injured pedestrians Khaoula FERDOUS and Aya BOULHANNI, along with Plümer Osman Ertüngü and Tünay Ertüngü (78), who was a Plümer Osman Ertüngü in his car were taken to Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital.Aya BOULHANNI, who was severely injured, was transferred to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, while the other injured individuals are receiving treatment at Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital.
