Two who went to obtain entry-exit record at the police station arrested for living in north Cyprus without a permit
Two individuals who were arrested for residing in north Cyprus without a permit were remanded in custody on Saturday.
The individuals, A.A and H.H, who are both Pakistani nationals were arrested on Friday morning at the Lefkosia police department when they came to obtain a document.
They were brought to the Lefkosia district court on Saturday on charges of illegal residency.
Police in court testimony said the two men visited the Lefkcosia Police Department Immigration Department on Friday October 18 to obtain an entry-exit record when it was determined that they had been living in the country without a resident permit.
During immigration check, it was determined that H.H have resided in the TRNC without permit for a total of 238 days since January 23, 2024.
The second suspect, A.A, was determined to have resided in the TRNC without permit for a total of 105 days since July 5, 2024.
The police requested that they should be held in detention for 3 days so that an investigation would be conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the suspects.
