Two found with drugs in Lefkosia: Remanded for 3 days

Two individuals, who were found with drugs in Lefkosia were remanded for 3 days on the order of a Lefkosia court on Tuesday.

The suspects, B.O, a Nigerian and T.G, a Zimbabwean, were arrested on Monday, September, 30. They were brought to the Lefkosia district court on Tuesday October, 1 for drug possession and use.

Police in a court testimony against the suspects said the suspect, B.O, was arrested for drug possession and delivery while T.G was arrested for drug supply and delivery.

Police said at around 5:45 pm on Monday, September 30, 2024, a team of police searched the residence of B.O where they found 5 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis in a plastic box in his trouser pocket.

The suspect told the police that he got the drugs from T.G.

The police went to T.G's residence in Küçük Kaymaklı at around 8:10pm on the same day and found 5 grams of cannabis in the pocket of his tracksuit during a search carried out at his residence. The items were taken as evidence.

Noting that the signs would be sent for analysis, the police requested that the suspects should be allowed to remain in detention for an additional 3 days.
