Three mothers along with their four children takes refuge with the police after entering north Cyprus illegally
Three mothers who entered north Cyprus illegally from Southern Cyprus took refuge with the police along with their four children, including a 40-day-old baby.
The women, 22-year-old H.A.A, 26-year-old R.B and 23-year-old F.H.S along with four children aged 7, 5, 3 and 40 days old baby were arrested on Sunday October 13 after taking refuge with the police.
They were brought to a Military Court on Tuesday October 15 on charges of "violating the military prohibited zone."
The police said that the suspects, came to the Demirhan Police Station at around 11:30 pm on October 13, 2024, and declared that they wanted to go to their country.
During an investigation, it was determined that they had entered the TRNC territory at around 7:00 pm on the same day from an undetermined location in Lefkosia, by secretly entering and violating a First Degree Military Prohibited Zone, coming from the south of Cyprus.
The police officer stated that the investigation had just begun and that there was camera footage to be obtained, and asked that they should be held in custody for 3 days.
The judge who evaluated the testimony ordered the three suspects to be detained in the student dormitory together with their children for 3 days.
