Three injured in collision between a fuel tanker and a car in Tatlısu

Three people were injured on Friday morning when a fuel tanker and a saloon car collided face to face in Tatlısu.

The incident happened at around 10:30am on Friday October, 11 at the Alagadi - 2 area of the Girne-Tatlısu Main Road.

Police in a press statement said the accident happened when Mustafa Batıbeniz, 38, who was driving towards Kyrenia with the fuel tanker carelessly crossed to the right of the road unto the opposite lane and crashed into the front and side of an oncoming vehicle driven by Iris A. Elısabeth, 57, which was coming from the opposite direction.

Due to the impact, the fuel tanker skidded uncontrollably and over turned landing on its roof in the middle of the road.

Both drivers of the vehicles and a passenger in the fuel tanker, Berkay Erkanat, 40 were injured in the accident.

They were taken to the Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital.

The police launched an investigation into the incident.
