Student beat up girlfriend for cheating on him

A student who was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend in Lefkosia has been released on bail.

The incident happened in Lefkosia on October 4.

The suspect E.M, a Turkish national was arrested and take to court for Serious assault” and “Serious bodily harm”.

Police officer who testified in court said the suspect committed the crime of serious harm by seriously beating up his ex-girlfriend on the grounds that she had cheated on him.

The police stated that the young woman who was violently attacked was examined by a doctor and a report was obtained.

The police stated that the necessary investigation was carried out, that the suspect was a student, studying software engineering, and had no criminal record, and requested bail.

The judge, who evaluated the testimony, banned the suspect from leaving the country until his trial and ordered him to be tried without being detained on the conditions that he pay a cash bail of 30,000TL, have a reliable guarantor who is a TRNC citizen sign a bail bond worth 600,000TL and appear in person at the nearest police station twice weekly.
