Man scams individual of over $4,000 with the promise to bring his family to north Cyprus for work
An individual has been remanded in custody for fraudulently obtaining thousands of Dollars and Turkish Lira from an individual in Famagusta with the promise to bring his relatives to north Cyprus for work.
The suspect identified only as A.C.Ç, 35 was arrested on Monday October 14 after the incident came to the notice of the police.
According to a statement made by the Police Press Office, it was determined that the suspect made a false claim to a person that he would bring his relatives to the TRNC as a cleaning worker between April and June.
The suspect however did not bring the victim's relatives to the country but fraudulently obtained a total of 4,300 US dollars and 78,000 TL in cash for the job.
The police said it was carrying out further investigation on the matter.
