Man fined four minimum wages for shooting a cat in the head in Dipkarpaz
An individual who shot a cat in the head with a air rifle in Dipkarpaz, north Cyprus was fined by the police.
The incident occurred in Dipkarpaz last week when the suspect shot a cat in the forehead with a air riffle that injured the car. A local resident who was feeding the cat noticed the unsteadiness in its gait and took it to a veterinarian.
Speaking to Kıbrıs Postası, the veterinarian who treated the cat stated that a pellet was detected on the cat's forehead and that this pellet was visible to the eye. The veterinarian stated that the necessary intervention was applied to remove the pellet in the cat's forehead.
"The pellet was visible from the outside. Our cat was lucky that the pellet did not hit his skull," the vet said.
Stating that the necessary medical interventions were applied, the veterinarian noted that the cat's health condition is currently good.
Following investigation into the incident, the person who shot the cat was fined 4 minimum wages.
