I don't even know what drugs are: Student arrested for dealing in drugs tells court
An individual who was arrested for allegedly selling drugs in Gemikonağı told the police that he didn't know what drugs are and had never seen them in his life.
The suspect, P.R, a Rwandan national was arrested on Sunday October 6 for selling drugs to a person as part of a drug investigation carried out in Gemikonağı.
He was brought to court on Monday on charges of “possession and distribution of illegal drugs”.
Police told the court that 14 grams of cannabis type drugs were found in the possession of of one CHRN who was arrested in an operation conducted in Gemikonağı on October 1, 2024. The items were obtained as evidence.
The suspect CHRN told the police that he bought the drugs from P.R for $220.
Police said P.R who was declared wanted was detected in Gemikonağı on Sunday and arrested in accordance with a pending warrant.
Stating that the investigation has just begun, the police requested that the suspect be detained for 3 days, noting that there are statements to be taken and signs to be found, and that the suspect's mobile phone will be examined.
The suspect, who spoke after the police, stated that he was innocent and said, "The police should show me a picture because I don't even know what drugs are, I've never seen drugs in my life."
