Man arrested for violating military forbidden zone

An individual has been detained for 3 days for violating a military forbidden zone when he crossed into north Cyprus from the south illegally. 

The suspect, S.M.E.I, a resident of south Cyprus was arrested at around 7:05 pm on Saturday October, 12 at a military zone when he who crossed from Southern Cyprus to Northern Cyprus.

He was taken to court on Monday for the crime of violating the military prohibited zone.

Police said he secretly entered and violated the military prohibited zone and crossed into the TRNC. 

The police officer stated that they will investigate whether anyone helped the suspect cross from the south to the north and that they will examine the cameras in the area where the suspect crossed into the country. 

Noting that the investigation is ongoing, the police requested that the suspect be detained for 3 days.
