Student beat Turkish man who tried to kill him by driving his car into him for reportedly staring at his wife

Two men, a Turkish national, and a foreign student were arrested in Lefkosa on Monday after the man drove his car into the student on the grounds that he was looking after his wife.

The incident happened at around 5:30 pm on Monday in Hamitköy, Lefkosa when a man named as F.K, drove his car into a person named M.A.S for staring at his wife. 

The suspect F.K then got into a fight with M.A.S, a student who was also arrested for beating F.K.

They were both taken to court on Tuesday on charges of “attempted murder”, “Fighting”, “causing Disturbance”, “Deliberate damage” and “Serious damage”.

Police told the court that F.K had a fight with M.A.S because he was looking after his wife. The two men then got into a fight as they hit each other on various parts of their bodies during the fight. 

Police said F.K had attempted to kill M.A.S by driving his car into him.

Police stated that the M.A.S, deliberately threw a stone he picked up from the ground at the vehicle driven by F.K, causing the right front door window window to break,. He also punched F.K in the face, breaking his nose.

Police stated that F.K was arrested for “attempted murder,” “fight,” and “disturbation,” while M.A.S was arrested for “serious damage,” “intentional damage,” “fight,” and “disturbation.”.

Police said the suspects were arrested the same day and an investigation was launched.

Police said there were statements to be taken and camera footage to be examined, and requested that they be detained for 3 days in the first instance.
