South Cyprus to deport 8 individuals found working illegally

Authorities in south Cyprus said it will deport eight people from the country after they were found working illegally. 

Greek Cypriot police made the announcement in a police bulletin released on Wednesday.

According to the police, eight people found to be living and working illegally in Paphos were arrested on Wednesday morning.

Officers of the migration department pulled over a bus after receiving a tip off. All eight individuals worked in tourist shops in Paphos.

Those arrested include three men and five women whose paperwork was inspected and were found to be living and working in Cyprus illegally.

The police said procedures to deport them will begin, and that their employer will be charged for illegal employment.
