Man rapes girl with down’s syndrome in north Cyprus with the help of her stepmother

Shocking details have emerged in the Turkish-Cypriot press after a man admitted to raping a 17 year teenager with down’s syndrome multiple times over the past year. 

The incident which was reported on August 28 has rocked the community.

The Turkish-Cypriot man has been arrested and detained in police custody along with the girl’s stepmother who is a Greek-Cypriot.

The suspects appeared before a ‘court’ in north Cyprus on Friday, Sept. 13, while a psychological evaluation is pending on the 17 year old victim, who is under constant supervision and care.

The man appears to have sexually abused the girl many times, with the stepmother allegedly helping in the crime.
