Man arrested for practicing black magic in North Cyprus

An individual who shared several posts on social media wit the claim of casting a spell for love has been arrested by the police.

The suspect identified only as S.K, 36, a Turkish national residing in north Cyprus was arrested over the weekend for practicing black magic and living in the country without a resident permit.

Police said the individual with the username “Medyum Muaz Hocam”shared several posts on Facebook with contents like: “spells to make someone fall in love and bind someone, spells to bind someone and bring them back”.

Police said it was determined that the suspect between 26 July and 19 September 2024, made fake witchcraft claims promising to cast a spell to provide income and profit to a person who contacted him. In return, he received 6,000 TL from the person in question.

Police said the suspect was identified and arrested after the incident came to the attention of the police.

During the immigration check carried out on SK, it was determined that he was residing in the TRNC without a residence permit.
