Furniture company raised down by fire in Lefkosa

A fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a workplace operating in the Lefkosia Industrial Zone.

The fire that broke out at around 1.30am on Wednesday September 4 at Sırdaş Mobilya (Teliş) furniture company operating at the Lefkosa Industrial Zone, for reasons yet to be determined also spread to a workplace called Sadun Erhun Gümrükleme.

According to police statement, the fire was brought under control and extinguished with the support of water tankers and personnel belonging to the Police Fire Department, Civil Defence, KTBK, GKK, Gönyeli and Lefkoşa Municipalities. 

The workshop, offices, warehouse and roof of the workplace were damaged by the fire.

The owner of the business, Ahmet Kasapoğluları in a social media post said the factory was unusable and announced that they would not be able to provide service from the office building for a while. 

His social media statements reads; 

“Dear family, friends, business partners, unfortunately a fire broke out in our central factory on 04/09/24 at approximately 02:00. There was no loss of life. The cause of the fire is unknown.

"We do not currently have contact information or similar information to reach our customers or customers who have orders. We will collect it in a short time and provide the necessary information on the subject".

We would like to thank our fire department and civil defense organization for their tireless efforts to combat the fire.

(Our damaged factory is the iron workshop and bed base production. All our other production factories are in separate locations and activities will continue in 1 or 2 days.)
