Fly tippers fined and made to pick up their rubbish in Çatalköy

A group of individuals who were found dumping waste illegally in a field located in a village in Çatalköy, north Cyprus on Wednesday were made to pick them up by the police.

The fly tippers who were caught dumping of waste illegally in Çatalköy and Esentepe were fined and then made to collect the rubbish they had fly tipped by village police.

The Mayor of Çatalköy - Esentepe Municipality Ceyhun Kirok who shared the news to his social media congratulated the village police who had got the fly tippers to collect their own rubbish.

“It was determined who had dumped the rubbish on the side of the road, and both of them were fined and cleaned it up,” he said.

He added, “despite all these warnings and fines, [fly tipping] continues relentlessly, but our stance on the matter is clear.”
