At least 11 dead after Israeli air strike on school in Gaza

Officials in Gaza announced that at least 11 people were killed on Sunday in an Israeli air force strike targeting Palestinian police officers stationed at the Safad school, which also served as a shelter for dozens of displaced families.

According to a medical source in Gaza, the strike targeted a “police instalment.”

The Israeli military, in its statement, said it targeted “Hamas terrorists operating at a control center in the area where the Safad school was previously located.”

The operations in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 40,738 people, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health, causing a humanitarian and health disaster and displacing nearly the entire population of 2.4 million residents in the Palestinian enclave.

The UN has reported that the majority of the victims were women and children.
