Turkish Cypriot man threatens health workers who responded to his emergency call, hijacks ambulance

In an incident that occurred in Serhatköy early Saturday morning, a Turkish Cypriot man who claimed that his family poisoned him, missed the ambulance that came to pick him up and went to the hospital where he was taken under observation at Barış Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital.

An unimaginable event that occurred in Serhatköy early Saturday morning, Tolga Keçeli, who requested an ambulance from the 112 Emergency Service with the excuse of 'I am sick', got into a fight with the healthcare workers and threatened to kill them.

Escaping the scene by ambulance, Keçeli also made a live broadcast on Facebook, claiming that his family had poisoned him.

Claiming that an attempt was made to kill him, Keçeli called for help on live broadcast.

In Keçeli's live broadcast, he is seen getting the healthcare workers out of the ambulance and taking the vehicle and leaving the scene.

Keçeli also called the emergency room of the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa saying, 'I am coming to kill you.'

In a statement by the Police Press Office on the subject, it was reported that 33-year-old Tolga Keçeli was taken under observation at the Lefkoşa Barış Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital for a health check.

The statement from the police is as follows:

"When the ambulance called for Tolga Keçeli, a resident of Serhatköy, fell ill and arrived at the location in question, Keçeli got into the ambulance, which was in working order, without the permission of the health workers, after a disagreement arose between them regarding wanting to get in the front seat of the ambulance, and left the location and went to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa. After the incident came to the attention of the police, the person in question was identified and taken under observation to the Lefkoşa Barış Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital for a health check. The ambulance vehicle in question was delivered to the relevant health center."

The police investigation into the incident continues.
