Key proposals include:
Road Safety Amendment: New penalties for drunk driving based on blood alcohol levels, including fines, imprisonment, and licence suspensions. Severe cases involve vehicle impoundment until the trial concludes.
Traffic Violations and Penalty Points Amendment: Increased fines and penalty points for various traffic offences, such as speeding, not wearing seatbelts, and using a phone while driving.
Passenger and Goods Transport Amendment: Stricter measures against illegal transport, including new restrictions and penalties.
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Amendment: Similar focus on curbing illegal transportation.
Currency and Exchange Amendment: Updates to regulations and fines related to currency exchange offices and jeweller businesses.
Public Procurement Amendment: Changes to procurement rules to improve security in Central Bank tenders, including exemptions from certain requirements.
These changes aim to improve safety, enforce regulations, and update outdated laws.
