Three people arrested in drug operation, large amount of drugs and money found

Three people were arrested in an operation tagged the Dynamite Operation by the Narcotics Department on Wednesday in held Tatlısu and extended to Vadili.

The operation tagged the Dynamite Operation was carried out by Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams in Tatlısu and Vadili at around 10:30am on Wednesday.

The suspect, 30-year-old Ö.AK, 35-year-old EK and 47-year-old BY were found to have in their possession 50 grams of cannabis, 5 grams of methamphetamine and 42 grams of cocaine, 7 pills believed to contain MDMA, 2 precision scales believed to have drug residue on them, 2 grinders believed to have drug residue inside them, 2 handmade glass pipes, 2 roll-up cigarettes with burnt ends, 6 pieces of paper and a total of 169,900 TL, 3,000 pounds sterling and 200 euros in cash believed to have been obtained from drug sales, and taken as evidence.

The suspect were brought to a court on Thursday.

Police in a court testimony said the suspects were first spotted in a rental car near Tatlısu, and after suspect BY got out of the car, the other suspects Ö.K. and EK quickly ran away from the area when they noticed the police.

BY was initially arrested, and that the other two suspects who were being followed were spotted again in the village of Tatlısu, but they did not obey the stop warning and escaped by throwing a bag from the vehicle, despite four shots being fired into the air.

The bag thrown by the suspects was used as evidence, the vehicle in which the suspects escaped was found abandoned in Vadili.

Police said 35 grams of cocaine-type drugs and 162,040 TL, 3,000 pounds and 200 euros in cash obtained from drug sales were found following a search of the vehicle in question, .

50 grams of cannabis, 4 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine and 6 narcotic pills were found in the bag thrown by the suspects in the Tirmen region while they were escaping.

Police also told the court that the two suspects were detected in Vadili in the evening hours, and that as a result of the search conducted in their homes and on them, 6 pieces of drug paper, 5 grams of cocaine and 1 gram of methamphetamine were found.

Police stated that the investigation into the matter was new, that the statements made by the suspects would be confirmed and denied, and that the signs received would be sent for analysis, and requested that he be detained for 1 day at the police station for investigation purposes.
