This amnesty not like other amnesties with almost 1,400 applications received so far; TRNC Minister of Labor

The TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu on Wednesday announced that nearly 1,400 people have applied for the immigration amnesty so far.

Gardiyanoğlu made the announcement during a TV program he attended on Wednesday.

According to the minister, the Immigration Amnesty that came into effect on August 5 is different from other amnesties and that those who will apply must find a job and be included in working life.

Gardiyanoğlu, noted that he had received information that nearly 1,400 applications had been made so far and that anyone who somehow fell off the register could apply for this amnesty.

He also emphasized that statistical data will emerge with the amnesty, and noted that important data regarding working life will be collected.

Gardiyanoğlu, who underlined that the lessons to be learned after the amnesty process is completed are important, said, "The employer and the state are responsible for every person you bring to this country. We have serious measures regarding working life and we will increase their frequency. We know what we are doing."
