Pregnant Olympian makes history with perfect shot at 2024 Olympics

Yaylagul Ramazanova, a 34-year-old archer, made her Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics while six months pregnant.

Despite the added challenge, she achieved a remarkable perfect shot, scoring a 10 and securing a 6-5 victory over China’s Qixuan An in the 1/32 Elimination Round.

Ramazanova, who has won two World Championships titles, felt empowered by her pregnancy, stating, “I didn’t feel uncomfortable… I felt that I was not fighting alone, but fighting together with my baby.”

Although her Olympic journey ended in the second elimination round, Ramazanova secured a respectable 17th place.

Her determination and strength serve as an inspiration, and she plans to teach her child archery if they show interest.
