Parked caravan stolen in Yenikent

A caravan parked in a vacant plot in Yenikent , north Cyprus was reportedly stolen.

According to report, the caravan parked for weeks in a vacant plot on the Municipality Boulevard in Gönyeli-Yenikent was reported stolen. 

A 60-year-old man identified only as G.S, a Greek Cypriot was arrested in Lefkosa on Thursday after he was found driving the car towing it.

He was also found to have committed other crimes.

In the search conducted in the vehicle used by G.S., a total of 103 cartons of cigarettes, 7 cartons of tobacco, 1 carton of hookah tobacco and 25 cartons of electronic cigarette tobacco of various brands that were not declared to customs were found and taken as evidence.

In the further investigation, it was determined that the person in question crossed from Southern Cyprus to the TRNC by violating the first degree military prohibited zone from the Akıncılar region on two different dates.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
