Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck

Court documents reveal that Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, marking the end of their two-year marriage.

The couple, who previously had a high-profile engagement in the early 2000s, tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.

According to The Standard, Lopez submitted court filings at the LA County Superior Court on Tuesday, coinciding with the second anniversary of their traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia.

This move puts an end to months of speculation surrounding their marital status.

Lopez and Affleck’s relationship has been a subject of fascination for nearly two decades, with their initial engagement in 2002 earning them the nickname “Bennifer.”

After calling off their engagement in 2004, Lopez described it as “the biggest heartbreak of my life.”

The couple rekindled their romance in 2021, with Lopez announcing their second engagement in April 2022.

Their rekindled relationship inspired Lopez’s 2024 album, This Is Me…Now, and an accompanying musical extravaganza featuring Affleck and other stars.

This marks Lopez’s fourth divorce, having previously been married to Marc Anthony, with whom she shares 16-year-old twins.
