Illegal worker and his employer arrested for illegal residency and work

A foreign national who was arrested for living and working illegally in north Cyprus has been arrested along with his employer.

The individual named only as M.B, 25 was identified by a team of police while walking on the Güzelyurt - Lefkoşa main road at around 9:00pm on Tuesday August 2024.

Police said it was determined that he have no residence permit.

Further investigation revealed that the person in question was employed as an agricultural worker by 49-year-old E.Ö., despite not having a work permit. 

Police said an administrative fine was imposed by the Labour Department officials on the person who employed him as an agricultural worker without a work permit.

The police investigation into the incident continues.
