Drunk driver hits and kill dog on Lefkosia - Güzelyurt high way

A man was injured and hospitalized after hitting a dog in a drunk driving incident on the Lefkosia - Güzelyurt Main Road on Monday morning.

According to police report the incident happened at around 3:3am on Monday August 5 on the Lefkosia Güzelyurt Main Road when a drunk driver, hit a dog due to careless driving. The dog died on the spot.

Police said the driver, 23-year-old CY, a Turkish national who was driving under the influence of alcohol lost control of the wheels due to carelessness and hit a stray dog ​​standing on the road.

He then hit a flower in the central reservation, which caused the vehicle to overturn.

The young driver was injured in the incident and taken to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosia.

The police investigation into the incident continues.
