Drunk driver falls into stream bed in drunk driving

A driver driving on the Tatlısu-Geçitkale road fell into stream bed after he lost control of his vehicle.

The incident happened at around 1:30am on Thursday August 22 on the 10th kilometer of  the Tatlısu-Geçitkale road.

Police in a statement said the driver of the vehicle, Melisa Akkan, 23 was driving towards Geçitkale when he lost control of the vehicle close to a bend due to carelessness, went off the right side of the road and fell into the stream bed, which was approximately two meters deep.

The driver who was injured as a result of the accident was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital where he was treated and then kept under observation.

In a similar incident, 25-year-old Tolga Eraslan was said to be involved in an accident that happened at around 2:30am on Thursday.

The accident happened in the METU Campus in Kalkanlı when Tolga Eraslan who was driving under the influence of alcohol lost control of the steering wheel due to carelessness, went off the left side of the road and crashed into a cypress tree.

There were no injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the vehicle was arrested
