Bus overturns on Famagusta-Lefkosia main road, two people injured

Two people were slightly injured following a traffic accident that occurred this morning on the Famagusta-Lefkosia main road when a bus overturned.

The accident occurred at around 7:0am on Friday on the 'Hurmalı Roundabout' area of ​​the Famagusta-Lefkosia main road.

The bus was seen on its side at the Hurmali roundabout, where the dual carriageway connecting Lefkosia and Famagusta ends.

According to police report, the driver of the bus being used for private hire, Ali Kurban, 39 carelessly entered the Hurmalı Roundabout while driving the bus.

As the bus rounded the roundabout, its wheel hit the curbstone of the roundabout and it overturned on its left side.

Two passengers in the bus, Shahidul, 23 and Javaid, 44 were slightly injured in the accident and were taken to Famagusta State Hospital where they received treatment for their injuries.

Police investigation into the accident continues.
