Three consecutive earthquakes hits Adana Turkiye

Three earthquakes of magnitude 4.6, 4.5 and 4 occurred in the Kozan district of Adana, Turkiye early Wednesday morning.

According to information on the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency's (AFAD) website, a 4.6 magnitude tremor was recorded with its epicenter in Kozan.

It was determined that the earthquake at 5.32am was at a depth of 7.6 kilometers.

One minute after the first earthquake, another 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in the same place. The depth of the earthquake was measured as 7 kilometers.

Another earthquake of magnitude 4 occurred at 5:34am.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the teams continue their scans in the field and have not encountered any negative situations so far.

He shared the following statement on his social media account:

"There have been 3 consecutive earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.6, 4.5 and 4 centered in Kozan, Adana. All teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions continue their field scans of the earthquake that was also felt in the surrounding provinces. There is no negative situation as of now. We are following the developments. I wish our citizens affected by the earthquake a speedy recovery. May Allah protect our country and our nation from disasters."  

Kozan District Governor Bahattin Alp Arslanköylü wished all citizens a speedy recovery.

Arslanköylü said, "We have not received any negative news. Our citizens living in the apartment have left their homes as a precaution. We hope we all get well soon."
