Work Amnesty' will come into effect as of August 5: Minister of Labor

The TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu said that the 'labor amnesty' will come into effect as of August 5, 2024.

The Foreigners and Immigration (Amendment) Bill was passed by the General Assembly of the Parliament by a majority vote on Wednesday July 3.

Minister of Labor and Social SecuritySadık Gardiyanoğlu thanked everyone who contributed to the preparation of the law.

Gardiyanoğlu stated that once the law comes into effect, the registration will be done through the employer, and that the data will be obtained.

Gardiyanoğlu said that with the amnesty, data will be obtained on which company the applicants came from and how they became illegal.

Minister Gardiyanoğlu announced that the 'labor amnesty' will come into effect as of August 5, 2022.
