Two students caught with cannabis in university car park
Two young men were detained in police custody for 3 days after they were caught with cannabis in a university car park in Kyrenia, north Cyprus.
The suspects, CSN and CEO who are foreign students in north Cyprus were caught in the GAU car park with 70 grams of cannabis at around 9:30pm on July 18.
They were brought to the court in Kyrenia on Friday on charges of illegally purchasing and possessing narcotics (cannabis).
Police stated that approximately 70 grams of a substance believed to be a type of cannabis drug was found in the possession of CSN and CEO who were considered suspects by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams in the GAU car park.
Police said the drugs taken as evidence would be sent for analysis and that there were statements to be taken, and asked for them to be detained 3 days.
The suspect, CEO who took the floor after the police, said he was innocent, that he only dropped CSN off where he wanted and that he had no knowledge of the drugs.
