Two arrested for drugs in Kyrenia

Two foreign nationals who were arrested for drug crimes in Girne on Monday were detained for 3 days as part of the investigation.

The suspects, CHO, 26 a Nigerian and NK, a Congolese national were arrested in an operation tagged 'Last Trade Operation' carried out by the police in Girne and Boğazköy at around 5:00pm on Monday July 1.

They were taken to a Girne court on Tuesday.

Police said approximately 705 grams of cannabis-type drugs were seized in packages ready for sale during the search conducted on CHO and at his residence in Kyrenia where he stays.

Police said the suspect NK was also detained as part of the operation and the seized substance would be sent for analysis. Two other people are wanted in connection with the incident.

Police requested that the suspects be detained for 3 days.
