“In the first phase of the tourism survey, a Passenger Identification Survey will be conducted between July and December 2024 to determine the sampling design and weights to be used in the analyses of the survey. The Passenger Identification Survey aims to determine the passenger profile by collecting data on the country of residence, nationality, purpose of arrival and the language they use most for those entering / exiting the country, and to create the framework to be used for the sampling and analyses of the ‘Departing Passenger’ and ‘Entering Resident’ surveys to be implemented in 2025.

The Passenger Detection Survey, planned to be launched on July 15, 2024, will be applied to everyone entering / exiting from airports, seaports and all land gates. Surveyors will be on duty throughout the day at the border gates and ports where they are assigned. Surveys will be conducted using tablets using face-to-face interviews.
