Student caught with 1 kilo grams of drugs following police tip off

A student who deals in drug trade was arrested by the police following a tip off on Tuesday.

The suspect, AHS, 27 was found with 1 kilo 100 grams of drugs during an operation carried out by the Narcotics Team at around 12;30pm on Tuesday July 9 Göçmenköy area of ​​Lefkosia.

He was brought to court on Wednesday.

Police said they received information that the suspect who lives in Göçmenköy was in possession of drugs. The suspect's residence was searched at around 12:30 on the same day, with a court order.

During the search, 42 separate packages of one kilo and 100 grams of cannabis-type drugs were seized inside the bed base.

Police said the suspect admitted to his crime in his statement. 

Police stated that the seized substance would be sent for analysis, that statements would be taken and that he was a wanted person, and requested that the suspect be detained for 2 days.
