Father and son attack and rob student in Lefkosia
A father and son were detained for two days in north Cyprus for assaulting a man on the streets of Lefkosia and stealing his money.
The suspects, MO, 44 and his his 17-year-old son GO attacked their 21-year-old victim named as RN who was walking on a street in Lefkosia on Sunday morning and stole his money.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the Lefkosia district court on Monday July 15.
Police told the court that the suspects were driving towards Gönyeli on the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Street in Lefkoşa on Sunday morning, when they stopped next to a person named RN who was walking in the central reservation. They, got out of their vehicle, attacked him, severely beat him, and broke his left finger.
Police said the suspects then forcibly took RN’s student ID card, 1,000 TL in cash and 200 TL worth of Black Afgano men’s perfume from his handbag.
Police stated that the suspects were identified and arrested in Lefkosia on the same day as a result of the investigation carried out on the matter.
The police stated that the investigation had just begun, that there were statements to be taken and camera footage to be examined, and requested additional detention time for the suspects.
The judge who evaluated the testimony given in court, ordered the suspects to be detained for 2 days.
