Woman working as a cashier steals from her place of work

A woman who works as a cashier in a market located in Kyrenia was reported to have stolen over 6,000 Turkish Lira from her place of work.

The woman named only as MAG, 30 and worked as a cashier in a market in Kyrenia reportedly, stole 6,899 TL cash, which she received from customers in return for purchases.

Police said she committed the act between the period of May 17-26, 2024.

She was arrested by the police on Sunday following a complaint.

In a similar development in Iskele, two individuals, BB, 20 and AFT, 29 were arrested for stealing alcohol from a supermarket.

Police said the suspects who were customers at a market in Iskele, stole a bottle of alcohol worth 536 TL, which was offered for sale in the market.

They were identified and arrested after the incident came to the notice of the police.
