TRNC working on a bill that will send drivers caught with high alcohol levels directly to court

With the "Road Safety (Amendment) Bill", the penalty for causing a death in traffic will increase from 7 years to 10 years.

The Law, Political Affairs and Foreign Relations Committee discussed the "Road Safety (Amendment) Bill", which has been on the public agenda for a while.

The bill, which has been discussed in general, will also be on the agenda at the next meeting.

People who drive under the influence of alcohol can be fined up to 15 times the gross minimum wage . There is currently no consensus on whether this penalty is too much or too little.

On the other hand, with the change in the Penal Code, the sentence for causing death while driving increases from 7 to 10 years...
