TRNC Ministry of Labor and Social Security prohibits working under the sun

The TRNC Ministry of Labor and Social Security has banned working under the sun between the hours of 12:00pm to 4:0pm from June 6 to 9.

The Ministry in a statement, said the starting hours for the agriculture and construction sectors will be determined by the employers.

The statement included the following statements:

“The Ministry of Labor and Social Security, taking into account the predictions of the Meteorology Department that air temperatures will be above seasonal norms and taking into account the danger of working outside under rising temperatures within the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Law and Regulations, between 6 June 2024 and 9 June 2024, Based on the authority given to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security by Article 36 of the Labor Law No. 22/1992, in order to protect workers working outside under the sun; It prohibited working outside (under the sun) between 12:00 and 16:00. Starting times for work in the agricultural and construction sectors outside residential areas can be determined by employers; "Within the scope of early start to work, early work start time can be applied to transport aggregate, ready-mixed concrete, other construction materials and construction equipment to the location of the construction work."
