Orange alert issued for Thursday as temperatures set to rise to 44 C
The Cyprus Department of Meteorology on Wednesday issued an orange warning for extreme temperatures.
It said that maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 44 degrees Celsius in the interior and around 34 degrees in the higher mountains.
The warning will be effective from 11 a.m. on Thursday until 5 p.m. on the same day.
An orange warning is currently in effect until 5:30 p.m. this afternoon.
