Man threatened people with a knife in Haspolat because the music he wanted was not played

A man who caused fear among people around him with a knife in Haspolat in order to scare them because the music he wanted was not playing, will be detained for 2 days as part of investigation.

The suspect, MB, 28, a Pakistani national was arrested at around 2:50am on Wednesday June 19 for causing disturbance and threatening people around with a knife in Haspolat.

He was taken to the Lefkosia district court on Wednesday.

Police said the suspect was found in a drunken state holding a knife while in the courtyard of the company named Korman Lodgings located in Haspolat.

Police said the suspect was waving the knife when they did not play the music he wanted.

The police stated that he was arrested with force by a police team while he was shouting loudly at the scene.

Police said investigation initiated regarding the issue is new and that the camera footage obtained from the scene of the suspect will be examined, and requested that the suspect be detained in the police for 2 days for investigation purposes in the first stage.
